Whitney Schultz Third in Tour of Vail!

Whitney Schultz of the Paceline Projects p/b Veloforma team broke away, lapped the field and took a sensational third place in the final stop of the USA CRITS Series in Vail. And Schultz's teammate, Kat Carr, took 10th overall in the series!

From USA Crits: In the women’s race, Allar, Alison Powers (NOW and Novartis for MS) and Whitney Schultz (Paceline Projects p/b Veloforma) formed a breakaway just six minutes into the women’s race which spawned a gap that gradually grew to 33 seconds by the halfway point. The trio would lap the field with only 18 laps remaining as the rest of the peloton competed for the 4th position. Amity Elliot of Team Kenda attacked with 13 laps to go and the 30 second lead she was able to retain on the field, guaranteed her that 4th place finish.

Lenore Pipes of RIDECLEAN/PatentIt.com marked Schultz in the final moments of the race in the tiny mountain town to deliver fellow teammate Allar to a first place finish, with Alison Powers (NOW and Novartis for MS) and Whitney Schultz (Paceline Projects p/b Veloforma) coming in second and third respectively. As soon as the top four crossed the line, a huge crash took down much of the remaining field who were competing for the number five spot, including Robin Farina (NOW and Novartis for MS) and Allar's RIDECLEAN/PatentIt.com teammate Colleen Hayduk.

Talk about a sensational finale to the road season by this talented duo. Follow along on their future explots on the Paceline Projects p/b Veloforma website.

Paceline Projects Team Reports on "Black Veloforma Ninjas"

Kat Carr and Whitney Schultz, who constitute the Elite women's duo with a penchant for super-high-paced criterium speed and are the backbone of the Paceline Projects team, recently reported on their carbon Veloforma Strada road bikes. Here's an excerpt:

Kat and I are both on the latest Strada SLR. This sweet, slick machine is light, fast, and STIFF. It handles confidently on Colorado and Utah mountainous descents and just as well on sharp crit corners at Tulsa Tough. I've gotten to ride Veloforma bikes for the past three seasons. I had a break last year, riding another larger company's bike frame (which never really did it for me), I was super pumped to get back on a Veloforma last year and am so, so happy to be riding one again this year.

Check out the whole write-up here, and follow along as they rock podiums at some of the US' biggest races.
